Volatile and mysterious, the new Roberto Cavalli Uomo is an aromatic oriental woody scent that exerts a stirring power on the senses
The arrival of Peter Dundas, Roberto Cavalli’s new creative director, is giving rise to creations that seamlessly infuse Cavalli’s sense of glamour with a new edge and an energy from the bohemian lifestyle and rock music.
The new Cavalli man seen through Peter Dundas’s eyes is a modern dandy. Blessed with an instinctive sense of style and elegance, he effortlessly blends sophistication and casualness. The new Cavalli man deserved a fragrance in synch with his unique outlook, a leitmotif to his way of life.
And thus the new Roberto Cavalli Uomo; the design of this masterpiece was entrusted to perfumer Christophe Raynaud (Firmenich). He composed an exclusive aromatic oriental woody fragrance, a combination of precious ingredients that create a perfect harmony between timeless Italian sophistication and dandy rock boldness.
The new Roberto Cavalli Uomo opens with a distinctive note of black violet, Christophe Raynaud’s signature flower. Volatile and mysterious, this fascinating scent comes and goes freely, constantly fluctuating. Contrasted with a very masculine counterpoint of hot and sexy saffron, it exerts a stirring power on the senses.
An intense heart of honey facetted with lavender essence adds depth and volume to this catchy overture, building a riveting theme. The hypnotic base note of cedarwood amplifies this fragrant melody. Laced with mesmerising oriental undertones of patchouli and tonka beans, its magnetic trail generates a seductive echo.
Roberto Cavalli Uomo’s bottle is a striking manifesto of style and intent. Combining Cavalli’s sense of theatricality and glamour with a rock and roll edge, the flask is made of heavy dark glass, embossed with the fashion house’s famous monogram. Its square shape is a token of masculinity and confidence. The crocodile scales that adorn the flanks of the bottle’s form are true to the Cavalli DNA.
The multi-platform campaign that will support Roberto Cavalli Uomo’s launch flawlessly reflects the fragrance’s universe. Inspired by the Rolling Stones’ mythic sojourn in the Nellcôte villa in 1971, it offers a striking glimpse into the new Cavalli world.
French male model Félix Guesnouin effortlessly captures the dandy-rock lifestyle of the Cavalli hero, his taste for elegance and refinement balanced by his audacity and unremitting love of freedom. The commercial was shot by the talented director Scott Cooper.
